It's no surprise that in comparison to other cities in Britain, the number of London accident claims is significantly high. The following statistics were complied by the Compensation Recovery Unit* and serve to highlight the type of accidents that occur.

Between April 2011 and March 2012 East London recorded more claims than any other borough in the capital - 23,444 to be exact. This suggests that, on their own, East London personal injury lawyers saw more cases than those in 115 other cities in the UK - with just four major cities recording a higher number.

The capital's 85,000+ total was mainly comprised of road accident claims; London as a whole saw 74,378 from April 2011 to March 2012. Again East London was the highest area with 20,807 cases recorded.

Most North London compensation claims were due to motoring misfortunes too; they made up 87% of the borough's total.
