Spencers Solicitors have donated £500 to local care charity Ashgate Hospice. The donation aims to help with the refurbishment of their relatives dayroom ensuring it is as comfortable as possible for families and friends of patients. With the money the hospice hopes to purchase new equipment including a fridge, microwave and television.
Ashgate Hospice is an independent charity that provides specialist palliative care (care to relieve pain rather than cure) for adults throughout North Derbyshire. The hospice employs over 100 staff in clinical and support positions helped by 200 volunteers who assist at local Charity Shops and Fundraising.
Solicitor Lee Foster visited the hospice in Old Brampton to present the donation to corporate events manager Emily Evans saying:
"Spencers have strong links with Ashgate Hospice and we are delighted to be able to contribute towards the improvements of the family dayroom. Whilst the main focus is understandably on the patients, it is important to consider their families and these improvements will help make their time at the hospice more comfortable."
