The Spinal Injuries Association (SIA) are the expert voice and leading source of support and information for people with spinal cord injuries (SCI). When anyone suffers a SCI, their life can radically change and consequences for the injured person and their family can be severe. Sufferers often find themselves requiring medical care, rehabilitation, home adaptations and advice on their financial situation.
The SIA now has over 10,000 members. Over 50% of the SIA staff themselves have a SCI. Because of this, they understand the difficulties involved in having SCI and are above to provide unique insight, support, information, guidance and practice advice.
The SIA provide an invaluable service and have helped thousands of people with SCI’s since they were established in 1974. They provide assistance from the moment the SCI happens and continue to provide support throughout to help sufferers of SCI live a full and active life.
Spencers Solicitors have been supporting the SIA as a corporate member for over five years. We are also proud to be recognised as SIA panel solicitors and to champion the important work the SIA continue to do.
The SIA are keen to ensure that all people who suffer an SCI have the legal advice they need following an accident. Spinal cord injury, unlike some other types of personal injury, is a very specialised area. Solicitors are only accepted on the SIA panel if they can provide evidence that that they have sufficiently qualified staff who have experience in handling cases involving these complex injuries. Each panel firm must uphold the SIA Code of Conduct, which is backed by the Association of Personal injury Lawyers. A copy of the Code is available on the SIA website.
Spencers Solicitors are the only Solicitors in the Chesterfield area on the SIA panel
Our Serious Injury Team have extensive experience in handling spinal injury claims and we work closely with each client to ensure a unique understanding of the individual’s circumstances and needs. This can include arranging a home visit from the outset, to allow us to fully understand the circumstances of the accident in the most convenient setting for the injured person.
We will work with medical professionals to meticulously define the status of the damage to the spine and what the long term prognosis will be. Arranging rehabilitation and immediate needs assessment will be one of the first things we do.
From here we will establish any immediate and ongoing medical needs and create a comprehensive claim that covers the cost of all current and future care.
Call us today on 08000 93 00 94 or complete our Online Claim Enquiry and we'll call you back to arrange a home visit.
If you're worried about legal fees, don't be. Most claims are normally dealt with under a no win no fee arrangement, so if your claim doesn't succeed you won't pay for our work.
