For employees on furlough leave, there has never been a better time to invest in themselves. Granted they can do this with or without the support of their employer, however there may be things that you could encourage your staff to refresh, upskill or learn a new talent completely in time for their return to work.
Many employee assistance programmes are offering free training a part of their commitment to wellbeing, and the internet is awash with opportunities to engage with new content or consider any changes to legislation, process, or procedure as a result of the pandemic.
Mental Health First Aid is an area that employers will need to embed all the more with the increase of stress as a result of the current climate, and their responsibilities as an employer being extended to include psychological health of their employee. Why not get ahead and get your staff trained to be mental health first aiders- it is a win-win!- it will keep them engaged, and equip your workplace in the best way possible when we have to face the ‘new normal’.
