Sadly, on 25th January 2020, Matlock Football Club’s Jordan Sinnott lost his life.
In light of the incident there has been a phenomenal response from the football community in memory of Jordan Sinnott, aged 25 when he passed. Jordan Sinnott had played for Chesterfield FC in the past and was on loan to Matlock from Alfreton at the time of the tragedy.
A minute silence was held before Alfreton played Gloucester city just days after his death in his memory; while Matlock postponed their upcoming game. Sinnott’s former club Huddersfield Town FC have also expressed their condolences.
The ‘Shirts for Jordan’ campaign, created by Jordan’s brother, has seen players and clubs nationwide donating shirts in their own colours with Jordan’s name and the number 25 on the back. The shirts will be displayed at Jordan’s funeral. They will then be donated to Sports Relief and will go to children in the UK and abroad who aren’t fortunate enough to have a football shirt. High-profile players including Jordan Henderson and Steven Gerrard have shown their support by donating to the campaign.
Here at Spencers Solicitors we proudly sponsor the local Hasland Community FC, under 11’s team. The football club have also donated a shirt to the campaign.

A charity match in Jordan’s name has been organised for the 22nd March 2020. The Supporting Charities Football Club will play as the Phoenix team and include former pro footballers and actors from shows including Emmerdale and Hollyoaks. The team will face West Yorkshire Police Football. The event will take place in Manningham, Bradford.
