Hats for Headway – Friday 20 May 2022

Each year Headway UK, the national brain injury charity, recognise Action for Brain Injury Week, which this year will take place between 16th and 22nd May.

The aim is to raise awareness of brain injuries across the UK and the struggles those surviving brain injury suffer. This year, the focus is on the hidden disabilities of brain injury survivors.

Hats for Headway Day is held on the last day of Action for Brain Injury Week where supporters of the charity are encouraged to decorate and wear hats in order to raise money.

Spencers Solicitors have close ties with and are supporters of our local branch, Headway North Derbyshire, and have enjoyed holding the event for many years. Unfortunately for the last two years we have all had to wear our hats in our own homes, having been unable to get together in the office due to Covid 19 restrictions. This is a photo of some of us supporting the event from home last year.

This year the Spencers team are looking forward to getting together in the office in order to judge the wackiest hat. We also hope to be holding a hat-themed quiz and selling cakes and confectionary to raise even more money for this fantastic charity.

About the Author

Amy has been with Spencers for 21 years. She qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in 2001 and as a Solicitor in 2007. Having joined the business as a file handler in 2000, Amy has developed a strong specialism in personal injury litigation built on practical experience of both file handling and management.

Amy became a Team Manager in 2008, and managed and developed a team of litigators dealing with motor personal injury, Employers Liability, Public Liability and Criminal Injury claims. Amy now manages the Complex Injury Team which deals with serious and major injuries, including traumatic brain injury, spinal injury, fatal claims and clinical negligence.
